Continue reading »]]> Just as one cannot expect to enter a large building without the building having a solid foundation, an athlete cannot expect to play at a high level with advanced skills without having a solid foundation of the fundamental skills.

A weak foundation cannot produce strong results; whether it is weak and undeveloped fundamental skills in a sport, or a weak level of physical fitness. When a solid foundation is built and maintained, then strong results can follow. A solid foundation precedes great results.

A superior program has a superior planning system, well thought out practice plans based on a sound philosophy, and has the ability to understand individual differences, and can personally connect well with individual athletes as well as with the group in a way that can bring out the best in both the individuals, and the team or group. Furthermore, superior sports programs continually reinforce the basic skills at practice sessions, and builds on the basic skills and progresses into more advanced skills and drills over time. These programs also emphasize the fundamental skills and the development of skills with children that are first starting out in a sport, instead of focusing on tactics, strategies and plays at games.

Besides planning and designing custom made practice plans to further develop their skills in their respective sport or sports, personal development and character development is one of the components which we emphasize in our Panther Sports Academy premier programs.

Below are some of the highlights of what we emphasize:

There is a misconception that “hard work” alone will lead to success. However, what is oftentimes overlooked is that a well designed game plan, efficient practice sessions, proper scheduling of games and/or competitions and working within a system that is able to make the necessary adjustments depending on various factors can lead one closer to success, and increase an athlete’s or a team’s chances of success, as well as maximizing their potential.

Hard work with no direction, no purpose, and just working hard for the sake of working hard has its limits. Yes, having a good work ethic and working hard is important and has its merits, but knowing when to work “smarter” and not just “harder” during certain times of the season or year can make the difference in maximizing an athlete’s or a team’s performance and/ or success, as well as peaking at the right time of the season.
